The Network of Sustainable Greek Islands invites you to an informative online day entitled “Promoting the clean energy transition in the Greek islands”. Emmanouil Kamilakis from DAFNI will present the replicability of the innovative smart grid technologies demonstrated in the SMILE project.
The event will take place on October 30th 2020 at 10.00 – 14:00 (CEST). The day is organized by DAFNI in the framework of the Initiative Forum “Clean Energy for the European Islands” which takes place online this week.
The meeting will be greeted by the Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources of RIS, Mrs. Alexandra Sdoukou, while speeches by MEPs will follow. Maria Spyraki and Mr. Petros Kokkalis, the representative of its Secretariat initiative of the European Commission “Clean Energy for the European Islands” Mrs. Antonia Proka and the Secretary General of the “Conference of the Coastal Regions of Europe” Mrs. Eleni Marianou.
In addition, representatives from RAE, IPTO, HEDNO, ELETAEN, NTUA, etc. will deliver speeches at the conference highlighting the challenges and opportunities for the Greek islands in the field of a clean energy transition. The conference will also present examples from Greek and European islands. The conference will be held on the Zoom platform. Due to the limited number of places, priority will be given to local government bodies.
