On June 17th, the second review meeting of the SMILE project took place online, where the progress made until the first 36 months of the project was evaluated.

At the meeting, the current progress, work plan, and deliverables of the project was presented to the INEA Project Officer.

In addition, the Project Consortium and the reference partners of the main project activities illustrated how all project resources were planned up to now aligned with the achievements performed in the last years.

In this sense, the partners attending to the meeting highlighted in their presentations the scientific, social, economic and competitive implications of their work, the upcoming steps to be followed and the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on the developments were illustrated, plans for dissemination of project outcomes and contingency plans including a project extension were discussed.

According to the participants and the project coordinator Giannicola Loriga the second project review meeting was a prosperous chance for all partners to discuss and review the contents and status of the project jointly between the work package leaders and the project officer of the European Commission.

At the end, the feedback and reactions received during the meeting were favourable and the SMILE partners are now facing the final period of the project.
