SMILE joins the webinar “Empowering Islands to Achieve Their Climate and Energy Targets” organised by the Covenant of Mayors Office on May 29th! Representatives from the three lighthouse SMILE islands (Madeira, Orkney, Samsø ) will discuss how their islands have embarked on their path towards clean energy transition.
DAFNI together with FEDARENE are hosting the first webinar on “Empowering Islands to Achieve Their Energy and Climate Targets” on behalf of the Covenant of Mayors Office on May 29th 12.00 – 14.00 CEST. The webinar is designed to support Greek island signatories to implement their SEAPs/SECAPs, disseminate the most successful climate and energy solutions amongst the community and highlight the benefits of sustainable energy and climate planning for municipalities interested to join the CoM community. There will be a dedicated section to Lighthouse EU islands and their path to clean energy transition where the solutions deployed in Samsø, Madeira and Orkney in the framework of SMILE will be presented as part of the replication obligations of the project. New Energy Coalition will close the SMILE session with conclusions on the SMILE solutions replication potential. The webinar will be held in Greece and there will be simultaneous interpretation of presentations from English to Greek.
